Resaltó que asumir esta nueva responsabilidad le motiva a transmitir los valores y desafíos que ha aprendido durante toda su carrera futbolística. “Es fundamental que nosotros podamos enaltecer las cosas buenas que tenemos en el país, sin duda que es un momento para aprovechar estar presente en mi tierra”, señaló. 

En este sentido, Ariel José Martínez Coujil, Presidente Ejecutivo de Bancamiga, destacó el compromiso de la institución que busca conectar con los venezolanos a través del deporte rey, y de esta forma, fortalecer su identidad con una figura emblema y qué mejor manera de hacerlo que con un talento Vinotinto.

Las dificultades han acompañado a Tomás Rincón desde muy temprana edad. En su adolescencia debió asumir duros desafíos emocionales como la pérdida de su madre. Al respecto destacó que su familia es su máximo héroe, específicamente su abuela, que se encargó de su crianza después del fallecimiento de su madre. 

“Para mí un héroe es una persona que inspira, que puede generar una sensación de esperanza en los demás, que transmite valores, da ejemplo. No solo son héroes los que conocemos, sino los anónimos, los que vemos día a día”, relató.

Entretanto destacó la importancia de ser fuerte en momentos difíciles y actuar con firmeza y determinación, de creer que todo se puede superar.

“Crecí en medio de dificultades como quizás la mayoría en Venezuela, pero con muchos valores y eso es lo que trato de transmitir. La Vinotinto a mí me daba desde joven una sensación de esperanza, de soñar y hoy día son eso, un símbolo esperanzador”, describió.

Fútbol: una universidad de vida

Toda pasión debe ser asumida con gran responsabilidad y desde sus inicios, “El General&rdquo;, concibió el balompié como una forma de hacer catarsis frente a situaciones desafiantes. 

“Esto comenzó como una pasión a través de la cual el deporte pudo canalizar la entrega de mi talento a cambio de una mejor calidad de vida. Jamás pensé ser el capitán de la Vinotinto durante tantos años, ni pasar por todo lo que he pasado.  Al mirar atrás veo lo que me he esforzado y trabajado para poder llegar a esto”, reflexionó. 

En relación con la competitividad del deporte hizo énfasis en que son más los partidos que se pierden que los que se ganan. “Son muchos equipos y solo uno queda campeón, siempre enfrentamos dificultades y obstáculos que nos hacen pensar que no lo vamos a conseguir, pero el fracaso es parte de los procesos y eso marca el destino de tu vida”, sentenció.

Camino al mundial

Al consultarle sobre las oportunidades de que Venezuela clasifique a un mundial opinó que esta nueva dirigencia de la selección nacional le ha llenado de mucha ilusión y augura que Venezuela puede estar muy pronto en un Mundial de Fútbol.

“Hay que crear nuestro futuro. Creo que tenemos el talento y el con qué, pero nos ha faltado estructura; sin embargo, considero que vamos bien encaminados. Eso me llena de mucha ilusión para seguir adelante”, aseveró.

También insistió en dar valor a sus orígenes. “Uno no se puede olvidar de donde vino, de nuestra tierra, de mi carrera y siento esa responsabilidad de seguir inspirando y decir sí se puede. Trataré de inspirar y ser ejemplo para futuras generaciones”, enfatizó. 

Finalmente, Tomás Rincón hizo un llamado a los venezolanos a llenarse de ilusión porque estamos en un país próspero, que puede lograr lo que se proponga. “Si perseveramos lo podemos lograr juntos”, concluyó.
